Blackberry Application Provides Bluetooth Dialup Networking for Mac and Windows

Brain Murmurs, Inc, a Seattle-based software research and development company, has announced Pulse, a Bluetooth application for the RIM Blackberry that allows the device to be used as a dialup networking modem.

Dialup networking is commonly used to access the internet from a laptop while away from the office network or wifi hotspots. Dialup networking-enabled cell phones can act as virtual modems for the computer, providing reliable internet access through the phone's connection to its carrier network.

Until now, only Windows users have been able to use their Blackberry handheld devices, through the use of a special cable, to share their internet connection. Pulse allows Windows users to share their Blackberry internet access wirelessly and is the first solution to provide Mac users this capability in any form.
